Week 2 Chipping/Pitching
Around the green we usually are going to play one of the two different types pitch shots. The first one I will cover in this tip is the most popular, and the highest percentage shot to play, the “pitch-n-run”.
Usually hit with a 5,6, or 7 iron or in some cases you can use one of your hybrids, and played like a putt, using almost all arms and shoulders. Play the ball off of your back foot, making sure your hands are ahead of the ball at address. The stroke is much like a putting stroke, make sure your hands stay ahead of the ball through impact. The result should be a low flying shot that will roll most of the way to the hole. This shot should be played when you have only a few feet of the apron to hit over, and a lot of green between you and the hole.
